Feb 3 - Day 2 - Case 1-2 continue

Man the 2nd case went by faster than I remembered. I would estimate that it took me at least an hour and a half to complete it. Not only is the investigation parts introduced to us in this case, We also would have our first court battle against Edgeworth in this case, and he proves to be alot more fun to tangle with than Payne in the last case. He was quite persistent as well with the way he objects constantly. After tearing apart our true culprits testimonies again and again we finally win the case, of course we couldn't call this case a true victory for Phoenix since he was bailed out at the last second by a friend.

The conclusion of the case is also marks where Maya officially becomes Phoenix's sidekick/partner and we also get to hear one of my favorite themes to the game "Turnabout sisters" ^_^

Overall due to me once again mixing up the evidence in the final court procedure I made one error. Meh it's no biggy though it was still fun. Now to move on to the third case.

Feb 3 - Day 2 - Case 1-2

Due to me hitting my head really hard earlier today I couldn't get over the pain quick enough to get started, I ended up taking a nap that lasted until midnight so I'm sorta late once again but here goes the introduction at least.

Phoenix Wright:Ace Attorney
CASE Two: Turnabout Sisters
Major Characters Introduced:Maya Fey,Miles Edgeworth,
Dick Gumshoe,Marvin Grossberg

The opening:

This cases begins with a phone call between Mia and another person on the phone who we are assuming to be her sister judging from the fact that the other person called her sis. Naturally we all know her as Maya the series resident love her or hate her character. I personally love her but whatever.

The sisters go on to have small chit chat before Mia cuts down to business asking her if she'd be willing to come to her place and hold onto a piece of evidence for her. The evidence in question turns out to be the previous cases murder weapon, Maya agrees in exchange for a trip to a burger joint with her sister. Mia agrees and with that they hang up their phones, we then discover that one of them saved their conversation which would end up being an important clue later on.

The scene then shifts an hour or so later back to Mia's office, where a mysterious character has come to receive the very same evidence that Mia had asked Maya to hold for her. Mia is shocked that this character would know where to find the evidence, our mysterious figure then tells her, that she would also need her silence. With that being said, the figure kills her with the very same weapon from the last case:"The thinker." We also once again get to see a goood look at our assailant once again but this time we also hear Mia's last words as well which also gives us a clue.

Yup ladies and gentlemen our mentor gets whacked this early on in the game. It actually surprised me because since she was in the instruction manual I assumed she'd be a major character throughout the game. But...I suppose the way they handled her after this was acceptable.

Later our hero Phoenix arrives on the scene but not because he had a bad feeling but because he was also invited to go have dinner with Mia and Maya. When he arrives he doesn't receive a warm welcome from the sisters but silence, and the scent of blood. Getting a bad feeling about all of this Phoenix rushes into action. It's here where we get our first taste the investigation action screen where we would have the options of either Examine objects in the area or moving onto another section of the area or map. I personally find examining objects to be pretty fun because other than help you find clues and such, the reactions you can get from examining other objects can be entertaining.

Unfortunately since theres nothing to examine in the first area the only option is to move to Mia's office. It's here we see where the crime occured and where the scent of blood originated from. Phoenix also encounters Maya for the first time here, as she moans for her recently departed sister. Unfortunately he doesn't get a chance to get acquainted as she faints on the spot. It's here where we get our first chance to gather some clues by examining the area.

While examining the other we're treated to a scream from the other side of the window in the room, we get a visual of a woman on the phone as she looks at us in terror. We can only assume she's calling the police. We'd be dealing with that woman later on in the case.

Once we've examined all we could, we'd move back to where we came from. upon his arrival Phoenix discovers that Maya is nowhere to be found, Phoenix begins to suspect that she might have run out on her. But from out of nowhere Maya appears right in front of him startling him. Maya at first is very shaken up over what happen, but once Phoenix explains he works there she properly introduces herself as Maya Fey. It's at this point where new actions are added to the investigation action screen "Talk" and "Present". As it is for examining, presenting various pieces of evidence or objects to various people can lead to some entertaining results, of course it's also useful for moving along the case as well. Talking is basically talking to characters about different subjects.

After we've interacted with Maya a bit, the police arrives and we are introduced to the ever lovable detective"Dick Gumshoe". Once he investigates the scene and gets a look at a certain piece of evidence he immediately arrests Maya on the spot and sends her to the detention center for questioning.

From this point the scene then shifts to the detention center where we are now fully aware, that Not only do we have to battle in court, we also have to do some investigation as well, and this is where the game once again truly begins.

Now to get started on finishing the case. ^_^

Feb 2 - Day 1 - Case 1-1 Continue

Due to the fact that my friend had to stall as much as my time as possible while hanging out with him I was late in finishing up the first case today. Meh I suppose I'll just be brief in this post now.

One of the series first joke moments appeared in the section where Payne asked Larry if it was true that the victim dumped him recently, and Larry in response proceeded to compare their relationship to such infamous couples like Romeo and Juliet, Cleopatra and Mark Anthony. Phoenix then proceeds to ask this specific question in his head in response "(Um... Didn't they all die?)" I remember when I first got to that part I giggled.

After a bit of banter between Larry,Phoenix, the Judge and Payne the scene then shifts to finally calling this "Witness" who claimed to have seen Larry fleeing the scene. Hmm Now I wonder who would make such a accusations like that? Why only our dear assailant himself who we now know as Frank Sahwit. He explains that he was selling newspapers from door to door during the incident, after we hear it, we then get a chance to cross examine our first testimony of the series.

I would like to point out that in this case since the game doesn't explain to us about the "press" ability most people probably didn't even bother to press any of the statements at this part, sure the action at this point is unnecessary, I still thought it was something fun to do nonetheless.

The very first contradiction will always be remembered by us Phoenix Wright fans as the most EASIEST and OBVIOUS one to spot if you pay even a little bit of attention to both the testimony and the evidence in the court record. But it's still possible to mess up by mixing up the evidence to catch the contradiction which can happen if you haven't played in a while which I have done at this point. ^_^ ;(So much for going for a perfect streak) We got to see our first nervous culprit at this point.

We then move on to another testimony which we then have to cross examine, after the first obvious contradiction I'm sure most of us gotten the idea on what we had to do next right? Once that's done we then got to see our culprit sweating a lil bit more and not appearing as confident as he did in the beginning.

We then switch the third Testimony cross examination of the case, it's here where we the theme during it changes to a slightly more exciting version of what we've heard up to this point signaling the fact that we're getting closer to the truth.

Catching him on the contradiction here makes the tune builds up even faster, which at the time when I first got to this point, hearing it combined with the fact that our culprit was starting crack a little bit actually got me more pumped up and excited. It's a really nice tune.

After explaining our theory on what happened to the court and the judge asking the witness on his take on it. Our friend finally snaps and Phoenix Wright gets his first form of "abuse" in court. Which was a wig getting thrown in his face. ^_^ At this point he goes frantic and even says stuff that would incriminate him even further however the judge asks us if we have any proof on our theory which we do so we go and explain it. Now after all that is said it would appear that we've won HOWEVER our friend has one more trick up his sleeve and it looks like we don't have any way to solve his trick.

However it's here we get a little bit of help from our mentor Mia and after she gives us a hint she then leaves the rest up to us to figure out. Which again isn't all that hard to solve as this is the first case after all. ^_^

Once that's accomplished we finally get to see Phoenix Pound the final nail in Mr.Sahwit's coffin or as Phoenix called him before he faints "Mr.Did it. lol

After all is said and done the verdict to our first case is:

NOT GUILTY

Awesome

And that concludes the first case to Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. A very short case but it was a nice introduction to the series in my opinion. Too bad I messed up in the beginning of this case other wise I would have perfectly completed this case. >_<

Feb 2 - Day 1 - Case 1-1

Alright first thing in the morning, took a shower, Ate breakfast, brushed my teeth, now I'm ready to get started on Phoenix Wright. So in the words of Dante from Devil May Cry: LET'S ROCK BABY!

Phoenix Wright:Ace Attorney
CASE ONE: The First Turnabout
Major Characters Introduced:Phoenix Wright,Mia Fey,The Judge,
Larry Butz, Winston Paine

The Opening:
The first case opened up with a scene of a statue with blood dripping from it, the camera then pans up a bit to reveal a hand grasping to it, we then see the victim, a woman on the floor, obviously dead since her blood is smearing on the floor underneath her. During all of this we're hearing the assailant gasping, and thinking of how he can get of his dire situation with no one suspecting him.

NOW here I thought we would have to figure out who did it on our own, but to my surprise at the time the game gave us a full visual on who the assailant is and the assailant even announces his plans to place the blame on a bystander he saw earlier. And that bystander in question was Larry Butz, the series first Defendant.

The next scene is in the Defendant Lobby where we get to hear our main character Phoenix Wright(Or Naruhodo Ryuuichi if you prefer his Japanese name) utter his first line in the series:"(Boy am I nervous!)" no surprise he feels that way after all it's his first time as it is ours the players. ^_^ Here we're introduced to good ol Mia Fey, Phoenix wright's Mentor and boss(NOT love interest like so many people in the beginning first assumed her to be.). The pair goes on to have a small chitchat about Phoenix's first case.

It's at this time we hear that Phoenix is acquainted to Larry Butz and learn that the main reason he accepted the case in the first place was because he owed him a favor from the past and that he actually owe his job to him as he's ONE of the reasons he became an attorney. Hmmm interesting eh?

Next up we were properly introduced to our client Larry Butz himself. Not a good first impression for us the players as all he's showing us is that he's overly excitable, over dramatic, and hyper. It's here where Phoenix is first addressed by his nickname "Nick". Which is short for Phoe-nix = Nick. ^_^

We then learn that the assailant we saw earlier, managed to somehow successfully pin the blame on Larry, the victim goes by the name of Cindy Stone(Heh funny), and that Larry was previously dating this Cindy Stone. We also learn that Phoenix has been friends with Larry Butz since grade school and during that time there was a saying "When something smells, it's usually the Butz" that was infamous for always being true when it came to Larry mainly due to his terrible luck, and a case of bad timing.

However Phoenix is determined to prove his friend innocent, the scene switches to the courtroom and this is where the game really begins.

Now here is where I gotta go and actually play through the game from this point. So with that being said, I'll write more in the next update.
